PINK BOLLWORM
Facts & Information
One of the most damaging pests of cotton in Pakistan, feeding inside developing bolls.
Family Name
Gelechiidae
What do pink bollworm look like?
Larvae are pinkish caterpillars that bore directly into cotton bolls, making early detection difficult. Infested bolls often show small entry holes and rosette-shaped flowers caused by larval feeding inside the bud.
How do I get rid of pink bollworm?
Integrated management combining pheromone traps for monitoring, timely sowing, destruction of crop residue after harvest, and recommended crop protection programs gives the strongest results. Field teams from AgPharma and Kanzo Ag provide season-long monitoring support to growers.
