Facts & Information
A common leaf-feeding caterpillar that targets cabbage, cauliflower, and other brassica crops.
Family Name
Pieridae
What do cabbage worm look like?
Cabbage worms are velvety green caterpillars, roughly an inch long, often found along the veins on the undersides of leaves. The adult is a white butterfly with small black wing spots, commonly seen fluttering around brassica fields.
How do I get rid of cabbage worm?
Effective control starts with regular field scouting to catch infestations early. Remove and destroy visible larvae and egg clusters by hand where practical, encourage natural predators such as parasitic wasps, and rotate crops each season to break the pest's life cycle. For established infestations, targeted, label-approved crop protection products applied by trained personnel give the most reliable results — your local Kanzo Ag or AgPharma representative can recommend a program suited to your field.
